About WOA

It’s a motto, not a slogan. First and foremost, it sets out what WOA rejects: the kind of motorbike tourism that’s neatly organised, predictable and signposted, packed with options you tick off when you sign up, and designed to surprise no one.

What we stand for is exactly the opposite. We champion adventure that is embraced – demanding yet structured, planned down to the smallest detail so that the unexpected remains a pleasure and never a risk.

THOMAS

For us, motorcycling is a family affair. From trial to enduro, from touring to trail riding and even track racing, two-wheelers have always been a part of our lives. Thomas has tried riding anything with handlebars.

For over ten years, he was lucky enough to work at the heart of the motorcycling industry and help build brands that were close to his heart.

Then came his motorbike adventure through Africa. Endless tracks, a vast sky, and that sense of freedom you can’t find anywhere else. After that, he rode the length and breadth of Europe on his KTM 690 Enduro R, crossing mountain passes, forests and deserts, and camping wherever the day ended.

Across both hemispheres, the conclusion has always been the same: adventure isn’t something you talk about, it’s something you ride.

WOA is the culmination of all that. It’s a natural progression, the logical next step in a journey, and certainly not a career change.

With over forty years of riding under his belt and having travelled across much of the globe, Yves has nothing left to prove. He has already ridden routes that most people only dream of, over terrain and distances that forge a rider.

On WOA tours, he provides assistance and technical support. He spots a problem before it even arises, helps get a motorbike back on its wheels at the side of the track, and carries within him the memory of the long distances and the unexpected events that are always part of any adventure. When the going gets tough, his calm presence makes all the difference, and you ride with far greater peace of mind.

Yves is also the very reason WOA exists. He is Thomas’s father, the man who passed on this passion to him and this way of seeing motorcycling as a means of exploring the world, not just riding. In a way, everything we offer today began with him.

We’re not a travel agency. We’re motorcyclists who take other motorcyclists to the places we already ride.

What drives us is that precise moment when the road fades into the background: a mountain pass opens up onto a valley that nobody photographs, a track winds through a village where we stop for real, we reach our destination and park our motorbikes to recount the day’s adventures around a table. The adventure begins exactly where the scenery ceases to be mere scenery.

We have no tourist checklist and no standardised route designed for the masses. Our itineraries are devised by riders passionate about adventure who have ridden them before you. On each of our trips, a guide who knows the route leads the way and a support vehicle follows in the background. Each stage is designed to allow you to recharge your batteries before setting off again. The rest is up to you to experience.

We’re not here to show you around a country; we’re here to let you ride through it. We want you to discover its landscapes, its people and the terrain at the only speed that really matters: your own, with the handlebars in your hands.
